In Q2, Raspadskaya increased coal mining by 38% to 2.6 million tons

In the second quarter of 2014, Raspadskaya increased its coal production by 38% as compared with the first quarter to 2.569 million tons, the company reported.

In the first six months of 2014, the production grew by 12% as compared to the first six months of the previous year to 4.427 million tons.

The main impact on the performances of the reporting period were made by the growth of the mining from longwall face 4-9-23 at the Raspadskaya mine, launch of longwall face 5-15-24 (1) at the MUK-96 mine, as well as achievement of the planned volumes of the mining at the Raspadsky open-pit mine. Currently the Raspadskaya mine works at three longwall faces. The fourth longwall face is scheduled to be launched in August 2014.
