Azovstal rejects using natural gas in steel production

Mariupol metallurgical plant Azovstal of the Dutch company Metinvest B.V. It has planned to transfer all blast-furnace production of the enterprise from expensive natural gas to pulverized coal. This was reported by the press centre of the company on Monday.

The Metinvest Group invests more than $17 million in construction of a unit of pulverized coal injection in blast furnace №4 at the metallurgical plant Azovstal. The unit construction has already entered into an active phase. As the plant reported, concreting of a part of the foundation of the injection body and pulverized coal shipping/receiving stations was carried out.
