5-6 mines to be closed in Russia by the end of the year

By the end of 2016, 5-6 mines in Kuzbass, Khakassia, Rostov and Pechora coal basins will be closed. The reduction of about 10 thousand employees of the coal industry is expected, the EADaily reports, referring to chairman of the Russian trade union of coal miners Ivan Mohnachuk.

According to him, not the old mines will be closed, but also those that now work at a loss because of low coal prices and the lack of markets.
