Ministry of Energy expects increase of coal mining and export by 10 mln tons in 2016

​In 2016 coal mining in Russia will grow by 10 mln tons, the deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Yanovsky, said.

In 2016 coal mining in Russia grew by 5.5 mln tons. Coal export showed a similar growth, inclduign to the APR.

Based on this data, on the results of 2016 there will be the extraction growth by 10 mln tons and export growth by 10 mln tons.

The growth of coal export to China is expected.

It will be due to the progress reached between Russia and China upon the issue of coal quality control at the Russian ports.

In 2015 the coal enterprises of Russia extracted 373.4 mln tons of coal, by 4% higher than in 2014.

The export amounted to 156 mln tons, the export in the Atlantic direction made up 85.4 mln tons (54% of export), in the Eastern direction – 70.6 mln tons (46% of export).
