The Ukraine to run out of its coal reserves in January at -5 degrees – experts

​The reserves of coal of gas group in the Ukraine, which is not influenced by the conflict in Donbass, might be over in Jan 2016 at -5 degrees, experts of the Ministry of Energy of USA said. The American specialists will give recommendations in connection with the situation in a secret mode.

According to Ukrenergo, operator of the energy system, there are 1.5 mln tons of coal at the storehouses of thermal power plants, including about 900 thousand tons of gas group and 600 thousand tons of anthracites. The main volume of reserves is formed at 2 out of 14 stations – at Burshtynsky and Lugansk thermal power plants which can’t ship the entire capacity to the united energy system of the country. A year earlier the reserves reached 3.4 mln tons at thermal power plants.
