Militants control 60% of Donbas mines, Ministry of Energy of the Ukraine

The militants control about 80 mines in Donbas (60%), the Ukrainian TV channel reported on Sunday citing the first deputy Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry of the Ukraine, Y.Zyukov.

As Zyukov said during the meeting of the authority of the state-run coal enterprises, only 24 of 93 mines in Donbas operate now. About 60 mines are in the vital functions support mode, while 7 mines are fully destroyed.

According to the deputy Minister, the mines terminated produced 32 million tons of coal last year. It makes up 40% of the total volume of anthracite, produced in the Ukraine.
