Mechel: coal price is at its lowest for the last ten years

The cost of coal has decreased to its lowest figure in the last decade, said Igor Zyuzin, chairman of the Mechel’s Board of Directors.

According to Zyuzin, the fall in the prices is directly related to the decrease in  global demand. The competition on the coal market intensifies, the situation for mining companies remains difficult, the chairman noted. However, according to Zyuzin, in the near future the situation will change, first of all the prices of scarce coking coal will recover.
