Mechel receives international certification for Elga coal quality.

Today the Mechel Group announced that the SGS Company – a global leader in the inspection, verification, testing and certification – confirmed the high quality of Elga coking coal.

During the independent laboratory tests, it was found that the samples of coking coal from Elga comply with Russian and international standards. According to the obtained results, the coking coal is characterized by low contents of phosphorus, sulfur and high vitrinite content.
